Classes & Scheduling

View our class schedule and choose the class you want to signup for (ACLS, PALS or BLS) and pick a date you want to attend class.

Fill out the registration form and submit your information. It is important that you fill in the same name and email address you want associated with your AHA certification card.

Choose a payment option and complete the payment to reserve your spot on the class and date you chose in the previous steps.

Once you've registered and reserved your seat in the class, please review the confirmation email which will include the correct location of the class and further instructions.

If you've purchased the AHA provider manual corresponding to the class that you signed up for then you should bring it with you. We also have provider manuals available for use during class if you don't have your own copy.

A notebook and a pen wouldn't be a bad idea as you may want to take notes during class.

Also, you're welcome to bring lite snacks and drinks with you to class. Water, Soda, Coffee and Donuts are always available at our classes.

YES! National CPR Center is an authorized American Heart Association® training site, and all of our courses adhere to the guidelines set forth by the American Heart Association®. You will receive an official American Heart Association Certification at the end of your AHA course training.

Certifications

Each student is issued their 2 year certification upon successful completion of the course. You will recieve your AHA certification before the end of the day, on the same day you complete the class.

Once you have claimed your ecard, it should be available for download and printing immediately.

Your new AHA certification eCard will expire exactly 2 years after the day you complete your AHA training at which time you should start preparing to renew your certification. You will recieve 3 renewal reminders at 60, 30 and 15 days prior to your certification expiration date.

You can retrieve your ecard by visiting the AHA eCard Verification website and entering the email address that you used to register for the course and your first and last name. If you have any issues, you can also contact AHA customer support for assistance.

NO! The American Heart Association® training courses all require a part of your training to be hand-on and skills check to be completed by an authorized American Heart Association® instructor.

National CPR Center is an authorized American Heart Association® training location.

Don't be fooled by "online only" CPR training. If you take an online only CPR course for employment or certification purposes you will more than likely have to retake the class at an authorized American Heart Association® training location. American Heart Association® CPR courses are the most widely recognized, and accepted CPR certification in the United States of America. Don't waste your time and money with fake "online only" CPR classes. Do it right the first time!

Although the book is not a requirement in order to take the class, the AHA does recommend that you have access to the provider manual for the course you're taking before, during and after the class.

AHA Provider Manuals are updated every five years when the CPR guidelines are updated. 2020 AHA Guidelines are currently in effect.

CPR Instructors

View our class schedule and choose CPR BLS Instructor Course from the list. Then choose the date you want to attend the live class. When choosing your class date remember to allow yourself enough time to complete the initial online coursework.

AHA Instructor Essentials Online, BLS Instructor Manual and BLS course teaching videos are all included with your purchase of CPR Business Club membership.

You will need access to a computer, laptop, or mobile device (ipad, android devices are acceptable) with internet access to complete the online portions of the program.

Some examples of courses that a BLS instructor can teach include:

  • BLS Provider - Basic Life Support: This course is designed for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a hospital or other medical setting.
  • Heartsaver CPR AED: This course is designed for laypeople who want to learn how to perform CPR and use an AED in an emergency situation.
  • Heartsaver First Aid: This course teaches participants how to recognize and respond to a variety of common medical emergencies, including bleeding, burns, and fractures.
  • Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid: This course is specifically designed for individuals who need to know how to provide first aid to children, including infants and toddlers.
  • Heartsaver K-12 Schools & Teachers: This course is specifically designed for teaching classes for students, teachers and staff in the K-12 schools, and a special K-12 certification is issued.

BLS instructors may also be qualified to teach a variety of other courses, depending on their training and certification.

With an American Heart Association instructor certification, certified instructors can teach in all 50 American states. Please consult with your lawyer or business professional, and referrence and follow your state laws and guidelines for business administration.

Groups & Businesses

The cost of CPR training will vary depending on the level of training being delivered (BLS, ACLS and/or PALS), and the number of employees being trained. Larger groups receive higher cost savings per trainee. View our group training info here.

The duration of CPR training can vary depending on the level of training being provided, but typically ranges from 2-4 hours for basic CPR courses (CPR-AED, First Aid and BLS), and up to 4-8 hours for more advanced healthcare provider courses (ACLS and PALS).

Yes! Once all the American Heart Association course objectives are met, a customized approach to CPR training can be delivered depending on the needs of your organization.

NO. The American Heart Association (AHA) is strongly advocating performing Hands Only CPR. There are only two steps for entry-level particpants to provide life saving CPR.

  1. Call 911
  2. Start chest compressions

BLS CPR for Health Care Providers is CPR specifically designed to be performed by doctors, nurses, EMT’s, dentists, dental hygienist, and any other profession in the health care field. This CPR training includes two rescuer CPR, Rescue Breathing, Pulse checks, and lectures about anatomy, physiology and cardiac rhythms.

Community (Heartsaver) CPR-AED & First Aid is specifically designed for lay rescuers such as teachers, industrial workers, and the general public. This CPR training is the introductory level class that teaches the basic skills of CPR to empower and increase the confidence of basic rescuers in the community to perform CPR in everyday emergency situations.

Once you've completed the registration process your seat is reserved for the specific class, date and time you chose during registration. You will receive a confirmation email containing, class and location information, along with your payment confirmation.
